    Delicious Mexican spot in Northgate. The portions are huge, so be prepared to have leftovers! I also like to order takeout here, and most of their entrees come with free chips and salsa.

    It had been literally decades since I last dined at Azteca, one of the last businesses remaining of the former Northgate Mall. It was a long day, lengthy commute, and to celebrate The Homie wrapping up finals and another quarter, we revisited Azteca for dinner (3/16/23). Lots of takeout orders, bar was full, and the dining room was also mostly occupied - good sign for this well worn, local, family run chain. We were pleasantly greeted, shown to a booth, given menus, chips with salsa and warm bean dip, and ginormous glasses of ice water. I had the Chicken Enchiladas a la Crema with the usual sides of refried beans and rice ($15.25). Nothing amiss, but it was just okay. Generous portion, so half of the entree was boxed to take home. The Homie revisited two apps he enjoyed with friends prior. He ordered the Azteca Queso Dip with chorizo and chips ($14) and Maricos Mojo De Ajo, shrimp, mushrooms, pico de gallo with spicy dipping butter ($19.75). Eyes bigger than the stomach and drove the point home why these are appetizers meant for sharing, not small plate sized. No other beverages or desserts were ordered. Food was a three, added another star for the friendly and attentive service. Happy for them for the sheer power of longevity when many food establishments are struggling since the pandemic.

    I had a fun time here! We are a group of friends that got together for a relaxing time and this was the perfect place for it. I had a chicken quesadilla and it was good. It came with sour cream and guacamole and it was on par for a good quesadilla. It was filling and I ended up taking the rest to go. I also had a mojito. I like mojitos but there was something about this one that was extra good. I can't quite place my finger on it but I really enjoyed it! Perhaps it was the sugar rim. Whatever it was, it's the best mojito I've ever had. Perfect for a hot day! I recommend going here. I hope to be back in the future.

    We came here for dinner for the first time and the food was amazing!! I ordered the steak fajita with rice and fries as my sides. I liked how you're able to substitute your sides. I requested the steak to be cooked medium rare & it was absolutely delicious. Also, the portion sizes are massive here! I had enough leftover for 2 extra meals. The service was excellent. Our server Maddy was the BEST!! She was super nice, attentive, helpful & we absolutely loved her. She saw our friend struggling to scoop out the cherry from his cocktail and came over to give him 3 additional cherries. I'm surprised this restaurant doesn't have higher ratings on yelp. It's got great food, great service & great ambiance. Highly recommend coming here if you haven't yet. We know we'll definitely be coming back & we hope to have Maddy again as our server!
